“Packed" (2025) presents some of today’s most market-driven cultural labels in the form of blister pack toys. I selected representative products and commercial applications, and used AI tools to “package” these widely consumed ideologies into sealed plastic shells—exploring how cultural values are reshaped in the process of dissemination, and how their symbolic meanings drift and become decontextualized. The questions I ask are: When critical and complex ideas are stripped of their context and commodified in a “neutral” way, do we lose sight of the conflict and resistance that once defined them? Are we lulled into a soft illusion of consumption, losing our ability to discern the reality behind it? "Packed" aims to provoke reflection on the commodification of culture, focusing on how over-circulated symbols lead to the erosion of meaning and the subtle repackaging of power.

 

《套装》(2025)这个项目以 blister pack toy 的形式呈现当下最被市场追捧的文化标签。我选取了一些具有代表性的产品与商业化应用,使用 AI 工具将这些被消费的意识形态“打包”进塑封壳中,试图探讨文化主张在传播过程中的变形,以及符号意义的漂移与去语境化。我想提出的问题是:当思想被剥离了其批判性和复杂性,以“中性”的方式被商品化,我们是否也逐渐失去了对文化本身冲突性与抵抗力的感知?是否在温柔的消费幻觉中,失去了对现实的判断?“套装 packed”旨在引发对文化商品化的思考,关注在高速传播与符号泛用的过程中,意义如何被消解、权力如何被重新包装与转移。
